Adapter kits for inverters are available from GenTent. This generator cover has an innovative self-attaching design and installs easily in three simple steps with no tools necessary. Clamp it, frame it, then cover it. The high-strength clamps and fiberglass frame rods connect directly to the generator, while the adjustable omni-fit electrical panel apron protects your outlets keeping them dry and safe. I found this on Walmart.com quite a bit cheaper than elsewhere at the end of last year. I finally tried it on my Champion generator and it works fine. It is easy to install and the fabric appears to be of a good quality. The mounting brackets can be left on to make it easier and faster the next time. I ran the generator with the cover on and heat wasn’t a factor on a 60’s degree day. My only request would be for a nylon bag to keep it in like most tents have. It must be a hot seller as the price has increased at both suppliers that I had checked.

Worked perfectly, fit and finish was spot on, it kept the generator cool and dry then entire time I kept it on, it took a few tried to get it lined up correctly because the CO2 kept shutting it down. Once I figured out the angle all was good.

The Storm Shield is made by GenTent and perfectly fits the Champion 8500 watt generator #202507. The waterproof material provides excellent protection from the elements and the cover is easily installed in minutes. The control panel is well protected by the drop down shield, which can be easily folded out of the way or detached to proved full access. The top access door also provides easy access to the top of the generator for refueling. The side mounting brackets for the fiberglass support rods are made of plastic, so one opportunity for improvement would be to fabricate these from metal. Aside from that, however, this is a sturdy cover that provides dependable protection for your generator during inclement weather conditions.
